In Quarantine & In Health: Part 2

In the early stages of Quarantine I wrote a detailed guide to my favorite Skin Care tips and products. There was no better time than the present for people to find new products and ensure that their skin was top-notch, the most, not the lesser, even in the house. (I saw y’all getting the selfies off so that was an important cause as well.) After years of getting my skin care routine down, researching videos, and reading product ingredients, I hadn’t been straying too far out from what I knew and liked.

I budget a portion of every paycheck to go towards supporting Black-Owned businesses and/or towards the donation to a charity/non-profit that serves the Black community. In all transparency, the majority of my spending with Black-Owned businesses has been at restaurants, hair care, and other goods but not much in the realm of facial care. A lack of due diligence on my side limited my purchases of these items from Black businesses to body butters and scrubs. (I love all the butters fyi) In an effort to continue to find Black-Owned businesses to support, I also want to hold myself accountable for finding ways to incorporate more products from our community into every day uses. Based on the items I currently have in my routine, I researched a few brands that I am interested in adding to my arsenal that have similar properties in comparison to products in use + brands that I have purchased in the past.

As always, read the ingredients before use. Understand what you are/aren’t sensitive to. You don’t need 100 different products, just a few that work really well.
